The whole game fits on one card. Here it is, with three things worth knowing before your first round.
Truth or Dare grew out of a parlour game called Questions and Commands, described in print in 1712. This version needs no cards and no setup. The game deals hand-written cards, one tap at a time.
Start one deck milder than you think the room wants. It's easy to turn the heat up and awkward to turn it down. Party suits people who have just met, Friends suits people with history, and Couples is written for two.
A good truth is specific, so it gets a story and not a shrug. A good dare takes under a minute and can be done where you are. You can read every question before you play.
Truth or Dare, or truth and dare as many people call it, is a party game played in turns. On your turn you choose: answer a personal question honestly, or do a short challenge. Most of the fun is in that choice, and in watching your friends make it.
This version needs no cards, props or setup, only a phone. You don’t have to think up questions either: the game deals hand-written cards, one tap at a time, and remembers what your group has already seen.
Yes. In the same room, pass one phone round. When your friends are in different places, open an online room and send them the link. Up to four players join from their own phones and see each card at the same moment.
Nobody who joins needs an account or an app. Many groups keep a video call open alongside on FaceTime, WhatsApp or Discord, and the host’s Playing apart switch deals only the cards that work on a call.
Tap Start playing, choose Online room, pick a deck and create the room. Share the link or the six-character code. Turns go round on their own, and the game shows whose go it is on every phone.
Two players is the most common table. Couples and Spicy work best for two, Party and Friends for three or four.
Not yet. Rooms are private: you play with the people you send the link to. Matching with a stranger is planned, with clean decks only and a way for either player to end the game at any time.
